Hugh Grant tied the knot for the first time at the age of 57.

The “Love-Actually” star married his long-time girlfriend Anna Eberstein on Friday, May 28 2018, at a low-key ceremony in London. The couple chose to get married at the Chelsea register office before close family and friends. The famous actor wore a navy lounge suit and a tie, and he chose an unusual large silver wedding ring set with three red gemstones. Anna shunned the traditional wedding dress. She dressed down for the occasion in a short white skirt, a smart, fitted blue shirt, and espadrilles. She was also wearing a simple, gold wedding band.

The couple was seen hand in hand as they made their way down the confetti-strewn steps of the Old Town Harlon on the Kings Roads shortly after 4 p.m. After leaving the town hall, the newlyweds with the company of Ms. Eberstein’s parents and her two brothers, Grant’s father and brother and the couple’s two elder children, got into chauffeur driven cars and went to an undisclosed location. Both families had earlier enjoyed lunch with their relatives at Colbert, a French bistro.

Anna Eberstein is a 39-year-old Swedish television producer and businesswoman. She runs her own company called Ace & Me, a children’s sock company that co-founded in 2014 with her cousin, Pia Tamn Hango.

Grant and Eberstein’s wedding follows just days after the couple’s engagement was revealed via an official notice of their planned marriage being posted on display at the local town hall. They have a £10million home together at Notting Hill, West London where they live with their 3 children. The famously private couple have been romantically linked for over six years.

Four months after the birth of his eldest daughter Tabitha in September 2011 with his ex Tinglan Hong, the “About a Boy” actor was expecting another baby with Ms. Eberstein. Three months later, it emerged that miss Hong was pregnant by the actor again, this time with their son, Felix.  Ms. Eberstein had their son, John Mungo Grant, in September 2012. Grant and Eberstein had their second child, Grant’s fourth, in December 2015 whose name remains unknown. Early 2018 their third child together was born.

The actor, who is well-known for playing lead roles in comedies and especially British comedies such as “Notting Hill”, “Bridget Jones’ Diary” and “Love Actually” had a colorful love life. His best- known romance was his 13-year relationship with actress Liz Harley. They split in 2000. He was, also romantically linked to big screen co-star Martine McCutcheon and Drew Barrymore. After a career in roles where he was playing a string of commitment-phobic character such as his role at “Four Weddings and a Funeral” and “About a boy”, he once said he was “not a massive believer in marriage”. He felt that was an institution “unromantic” because humans were not meant to be in long and faithful relationships. In August 2016, Grant claimed that the secret to a happy marriage was having affairs. He argued that marriage bring out “possessiveness, ownership and jealousy” in a spouse adding that he thinks that there’s something unromantic about marriage because you’re closing yourself off. That’s why his marriage was a big surprise for his friends who believe that he will never marry.
